At the Miami Beach convention center, this year’s Art Basel offered a preponderance of Keith Haring works, several of Richard Prince’s Monochromatic Jokes paintings, and at least two robotic dogs affixed with replicas of Elon Musk’s head. At the party circuit that surrounds the fair, there were, as always, packs of starlets and socialites in their Miami-chic best, arty photo backdrops, and lots and lots of free-flowing champagne. Naturally, every year of Art Basel Miami Beach brings its own unique party moments that you can’t put a red dot on. Capital One brought in Diana Ross to run through an album’s worth of her greatest hits for a performance within Alex Prager’s Los Angeles-inspired installation; Marc Jacobs toasted a season of “Joy”; and Tag Heuer celebrated a new watch. Sukeban
Sukeban’s female wrestling matches at the Miami Beach Bandshell have become a Miami Art Week tradition. The headline, of course, was Ichigo Sayaka securing the championship belt. Though, Violet Chachki and Gottmik added to the allure with a surprise appearance.
JT, the definitve City of Miami girl, crossed the causeway to perform her new song “Girls Gone Wild.”

Burberry x Sarah Morris Dinner
Burberry commissioned artist Sarah Morris to reimagine the facade of their Design District boutique, and celebrated with an evening event at the Andaz Beach Miami. Julez Smith, the model and son of Solange Knowles, was amongst those who attended.

Alex Prager’s Mirage Factory With Capital One x The Cultivist
Alex Prager’s Mirage Factory installation is a surrealist reinterpretation of Los Angeles, done in miniature. Diana Ross, meanwhile, is larger than life. Capital One and The Cultivist brought both together on Wednesday night. In between California cuisine-inspired courses provided by chef Dave Beran, Ross ran through her hits including “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” “Stop! In the Name of Love,” and “The Boss.”

Jimmy Choo x Crosby Studios Luncheon
Jimmy Choo creative director Sandra Choi and Crosby Studios chief Harry Nuriev drew a crowd of It girls and models to their luncheon. Held at ZZ’s Club Miami, the meal celebrated Choo and Crosby’s recent collaboration (Nuriev designed a giant Choo pump that looks as if it’s currently breaking through the front window of the Design District Boutique). Sophie Hawley-Weld, Camila Coelho, and Vita Sidorkina helped set the style tone.

‘Marco Brambilla: After Utopia’ Opening Celebration Co-Hosted by Golden Goose
Artist Marco Brambilla’s World Fair-inspired artwork was celebrated at Miami Beach’s The Wolfsonian–FIU Museum with an event co-hosted by Golden Goose. Brambilla’s video art triptych was accompanied by memorabilia from World Fair’s past. Above: Brambilla poses with Sarah Morris.

Serpentine Americas Foundation and Serpentine Council 14th Annual Art Basel Miami Beach VIP Brunch
The celebrity set might sit it out (well at least most of them), but with a mix of artist, curators, gallerists, and collectors, the annual Serpentine Americas Foundation and Serpentine Council’s brunch might be one of the biggest power summits of the week. Held at Casa Tua in the hours before the main fair’s VIP preview, it’s a must-stop for frittata, coffee and gossip before the buying begins.
This year’s iteration brought an extra bit of good news. London’s Serpentine Gallery has partnered with New York’s Flag Art Foundation have launched a joint art prize. Every other year over the next ten years, an artist will be awarded the prize and tasked with putting a show that will travel between the two cities. Seperately, Serpentine also announced that it will host blockbuster shows by David Hockney and Ceciley Brown in 2026.

Marc Jacobs ‘JOY’ Party
Marc Jacob’s seasonal “JOY” collaborative series hit its apex in Miami. The brand has set up shop inside the convention center, and celebrated on Tuesday night across the street at the Botanical Garden. Blu DeTiger provided the music.

TAG Heuer Dinner
TAG Heuer ambassador Alexandra Daddario celebrated the brand’s new collaboration with Hiroshi Fujiwara on December 3. Guests dined at Wynwood’s new Japanese-Caribbean fusion restaurant Shiso.
